On March 16, 2022, the trial synchronisation of the Continental European Power System with the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova started. The acceleration of the synchronisation project ongoing since 2017 has been possible due to the previous studies carried out, among which the feasibility study drawn up within Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013 cross border cooperation programme.
During the period the martial law is in force in Ukraine (starting on February 24, 2022), the National Bank of Ukraine introduced additional regulation concerning bank transfers and operations with foreign currency.
Following the Russian military aggression against Ukraine and in line with the Commission's decision to fully implement all EU restrictive measures, the Commission has suspended the cooperation with Russia and its ally Belarus in the European Neighbourhood Instrument cross-border cooperation programmes (ENI CBC) as well as in the Interreg Baltic Sea region programme.
The Managing Authority for 2014-2020 Romania-Ukraine Programme, as a coordinator of the programming process, is organising public consultations on the first draft of Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine Programme for 2021-2027.
