The European Commission approved the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine Programme on November 30, 2022.
With an allocation of 54 million Euro, non-refundable funds, the cross-border cooperation programme will finance investments in the modernization of hospitals and educational institutions in the border area, in the development of tourism and the optimisation of customs services, as well as in prevention and preparedness for managing emergency situations.
In Romania, the counties that can access these funds are: Satu Mare, Maramureș, Botoșani, Suceava and Tulcea, whereas the oblasts from Ukraine that can apply for funding are Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpatska, Chernivtsi, and Odesa.
