The cross-border project SpeEd-2-Labour Market has been selected as one of the six finalists of the European cooperation project competition – Interreg Slam 2024-2025. SpeEd-2-Labour Market (2SOFT1.1/35) was implemented in the cross-border area of Romania (Suceava) – Ukraine (Chernivtsi) to improve special education and facilitate the transition of children with special educational needs into the labour market.
The project aimed to modernize the educational framework and the improvement of skills among teachers, especially in the evaluation, recovery and professional training of children with special educational needs, in 4 special schools in Suceava County and the Chernivtsi region. By equipping schools and providing specialised resources, the project has helped to create the conditions that facilitate the social and professional adaptation of these children, thus promoting inclusion and independence.
In 2022, the Romania-Ukraine program won the grand prize of the Interreg Slam competition in Brussels, after qualifying for the final with the cross-border project "Virtual reality unites the Carpathians: Interactive school laboratories".
This year's Interreg Slam competition was themed to celebrate the fundamental values of the European Union, and the 6 selected finalists underline their commitment to inclusion, freedom, equal opportunities and sustainable development:
- Justice without Borders - Interreg France-Germany-Switzerland
- PaNaNet+ - Interreg Austro-Ungaria
- Pallium - Interreg Italy-Switzerland
- SMALL - Interreg North Sea
- Prosper BSR - Interreg Baltic Sea Region

The grand finale will involve the public presentation of the projects at the Interreg GO! which will take place in Nova Gorica / Gorizia in March 2025.
