The Government of Romania approved, during the meeting held on June 30, 2022, the negotiation and signing of Interreg VI-A Romania-Ukraine Programme. This will be sent to the European Commission for approval.
The Government of Ukraine sent as well its agreement on the contents of the programme which will be submitted to the European Commission.
Minister of development, public works and administration, CSEKE Attila, has been empowered to perform any necessary changes requested during the negotiations with the European Commission.
During the period of 2021-2027, Romania takes part in the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania-Ukraine Programme hosting the Managing Authority, the Joint Secretariat and the Audit Authority.
The programme area covers Satu Mare, Maramureș, Suceava, Botoșani, Tulcea counties in Romania and Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Odesa oblasts in Ukraine.
During 2021-2027, the programme will finance joint projects in the fields of nature protection and climate change, risk prevention and emergency situations, education, health, culture and tourism, safety and security.
The EU contribution of Romania-Ukraine Programme is of 54 million Euro. The participating countries will contribute with a minimum of 10% national cofinancing.
In order to ensure a transparent framework of institutional cooperation, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration organised consultations with the stakeholders in the programme area and published on www.ro-ua.net all the documents drafted during the programming process.
